Quit Smoking Tips

1. First things first, take out your calender and choose any day you want; provided it is within the next 2 weeks!

2. Start cutting back now! If you are reading this you obviously want to "try" to Quit smoking. With these tips and your own motivation you will not "try" again; this time WILL be different! Which brings me to the second tip -

3. Believe that this time will be different. It has to be. Make a commitment to yourself right now that you will never have one more puff ever again after your Quit date. N.O.M.P.E (Not One More Puff Ever) will become you new lifelong motto.

4. Get out a fresh notepad or book. Write down your reasons to want to Quit Smoking. What benefits will you get from Quitting? How much money do you think you will save and so on... Write all this information down for reference later.

5. Now on another page in your notepad/book write down all the ways you plan to distract yourself. (going for a walk, brushing your teeth after eating, having a bubble bath, taking up a new hobby etc etc.) Think of many ways that you can distract yourself from wanting that routine cigarette.

6. Consider Nicotine Replacement (gum or patch) or Laser or Hypnosis therapy. If you feel that you need help to get over the first hump.

7. Get out your notebook again and write even more reasons you want/need to quit smoking for good this time! This is when you will notice the really important stuff come out. Also if you are concerned about weight gain you may want to add an additional page in your notebook - a list of healthy snacks.

That's it! The rest is up to you. Believe that you WILL do this. Review your notebook everyday leading up to your Quit Date. Remind yourself every time you get tempted...and you will get tempted... N.O.M.P.E
